E just told me two little boys have been trying to kiss her at school. I just told her she has my permission to slap them if they try again. She smiled in surprise. But I was not smiling. I tried to keep it light as I explained that her body is hers alone and if someone tries to do something to her without her permission, she can do anything she has to do to stop them...and if her teacher says something, to have her call mommy. Did I really just tell my first grader that?! Good grief. Who have I become?
